Just in time for spring we are happy to announce the release of our WORKER BEE. Weighing in at 6.5% this Saison-style Wild Ale has been brewed on freshly harvested raw Alphington Honey from local hives (you can even see them in the picture above!). The hives are kept by @practical_beekeeper here on the edge of the Darebin Parklands. To finesse this gorgeous ale we added a handful of fresh chamomile flowers foraged from our home estate.
The inspiration to use honey was always going to be a focus for us here at LS HQ as the numerous hives in the area are a drawcard for local Australian bees, in the summer time we sometimes have swarms of bees in the vicinity of the brewery and on occasions they buzz into the brewery making mash out sometimes challenging for our brewers!
