Vineyard

Nestled at the cool Southern end of the Barossa Valley, near the boundary of the Adelaide Hills, is Aldo’s Vineyard. This single vineyard is planted on a deep silty grey loam overlaying a yellow clay and consistently produces Mataro with complex spice and aromatic intensity.

Winemaking

The Mataro was hand-harvested on the 9^th March 2022 and  whole bunch pressed directly to seasoned oak. The wine was fermented and matured in this oak on full solids.  After 5 months the wine was blended in stainless steel and filtered in time for bottling in early August 2022.
